TitleCorrespondence. John Chetle
DescriptionLetter from Edward Leigh. Francis Rous' correction at his school 'with a small wand' was in fact a bull's pizzle. A former correction had almost beaten out an eye. His master is a pedantic fellow, a former sizar at Katharine Hall in Cambridge. He considers himself ill-used by Sir Edward Rous, but thanks Lady Rous for her care of Thomas. They do not wish to deal with Sir Edward so have appointed John Knight to receive the annuity and pay Lady Rous £20.
