ROAD CLOSURE

 Worcestershire County Council -Public Notice.
Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (As Amended)
(C2011 Radford Road, Rous Lench)(Temporary Closure) Order 2017
The Council intend, not less than seven days from the date of this Notice, to make an Order to close that part of C2011 Radford Road, Rous Lench, from its junction with C2010 Alcester Road to its junction with C2011 Rous Lench Green to Low Road in order to facilitate works for Barden Network.
Exemptions: to permit access to any land or premises fronting the highway affected where there is no other form of access; and to allow the works to be undertaken.
Alternative route: C2011 Rous Lench Green to Low Road, C2011 Low Road, C2011 Atch Lench Road, C2011 Atch Lench Road to Leys Road, C2117 Handgate Lane, C2117 Badgers Hill to Handgate Lane, C2117 Hill Furze, C2022 Hill Furze Road, C2022 Broad Lane, C2012 Main Street, C2012 Abberton Road, U43604 Bishampton Road, C2010 Radford Road, C2010 Alcester Road and vice versa
Maximum duration: 18 Months. Anticipated duration: 10 days: Commencing: 6 March 2017.

 PARISH PATHS WARDEN - ABBOTS MORTON
Do you have time for a walk?
A volunteer opportunity exists to contribute towards the accessibility, maintenance and improvement of your local public rights of way network for the benefit of the local and wider community.
Worcestershire County Council is looking for a Parish Paths Warden to cover the parish of Abbots Morton.
The role will involve regular inspections and minor maintenance of footpaths and bridleways in the area on behalf of the Countryside Service. 
A reasonable level of fitness and good basic map reading skills are required.
A positive, but diplomatic approach to the role is essential, it may not be likely that you will achieve miracles but it IS possible for you to make a real difference by making small changes or carrying out repairs, through liaison with landowners and consultation with a Countryside Service Maintenance Improvement Officer and at the same time you may even discover less-known routes right on your doorstep!
Some knowledge of the local area would be beneficial but not essential.
Regular support from a designated Countryside Service Officer is available to assist you. 
Full training is provided and a one day mandatory course must be attended to enable you to carry out this role.

 The next Parish Council meeting will take place on Thursday 23rd March 2017 at 8pm in the Village Hall.

Casual Vacancies

 

The above Parish Council will consider filling by co-option three vacancies for Councillors to fill a place due to resignations at its meeting to be held on Thursday March 23rd 2017 at Abbots Morton Village Hall

If you are interested in serving the community in this way and want to become a candidate for co-option should obtain an application form for candidacy from the Clerk. Completed application forms should be returned to the Clerk by March 13th 2017.

In Wychavon we are running a young peoples (11-25) short film competition to create, develop, film and upload an advert persuading friends not to smoke around the themes of; dating a smoker or no smoking during pregnancy or no smoking around babies and children.

There will be local workshops available to support young filmmakers in the film making process. 

The closing date for the local competition is 27 February 2017 with the winners being announced on March 6th at the W Factor.
