Welcome to Westwood Parish Council

The individual and neighbouring parishes of Hampton Lovett and Westwood have been historically linked for many centuries, and notably since Tudor times through the Pakington family estates. They now form a single parish of more than 2000 acres under the auspices of Wychavon District Council.
The combined parish is predominantly rural in nature, still extensively farmed, with old woodlands and a large lake with SSI classification. There is the hamlet of Hampton Lovett with the picturesque Norman church, the impressive Tudor manor house at Westwood, many scattered cottages, converted farm settlements and a well established park home site, Doverdale Park, off the A442 in Hampton Lovett. The industrial estates of Hampton Lovett and Stonebridge Cross occupy over 130 acres of our parish, adding to the diversity the area and capitalising on our excellent location in relation to the national road/motorway network.
On a community level there is no major village focus with its attendant services like a school, public house or post office. These are available 2 miles away in Cutnall Green or within Droitwich itself. A parish room was erected in 1897 close to the church of St Mary’s and All Saints. This was extended 12 years ago to retain the original Victorian structure but provide an impressive, well-equipped building suitable for a host of uses within the parish. The residents of Doverdale Park, who constitute over 50% of the total population of the parish, hold regular dance afternoons in the hall as well as some of their Resident Association meetings. It is our polling station and seen by many as the focal point of the parish.
Hampton Lovett and Westwood is a beautiful and largely unspoilt corner of Worcestershire. Its rural quality and convenient location create its present character. There is much to admire and explore, scrutiny of the Ordinance Survey maps of the area show a network of well marked footpaths, like the Wychavon Way, allowing opportunities to explor
