Becoming a Mindful and Effective Employee

An Introduction To Acceptance and Commitment Therapy for Improving Work Well Being and Performance This lecture will introduce ideas developed by Flaxman and colleagues (2013) successfully applying Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) principles to improve wellbeing and performance in the workplace. It will briefly describe the model and research underpinning the ACT approach and introduce strategies that have been found to be effective in improving employee psychological health, resilience and effectiveness. The lecture will be relevant for employers, managers and employees who want to learn about an innovative, evidence based approach to support work health and effectiveness.
