DescriptionUnder the auspices of Birmingham Regional Hospital Board and then Hereford and Worcester Area Health Authority records of specific hospitals (not general administrative records) dating from before the establishment of the National Health Service in 1948 were deposited in Worcestershire Record Office namely: Worcester Royal Infirmary, Malvern Hospital, Knightwick Sanitorium, Kidderminster General Hospital (formerly Kidderminster Union Workhouse) and Powick Hospital. See elsewhere in this catalogue under Worcestershire Record Office references 010:6, 489:16 and 499:8 for details of these records of specific hospitals.

Some pre National Health Service administrative records were deposited after West Midlands Regional Health Authority replaced Birmingham Regional Hospital Board in 1974.
