DescriptionThe case books contain details of age, date of admission, origins, marital status, occupation and religion of each patient, together with a case history and the present condition of the patient. From 1895 details of education and the number of children are given. Parcels 25-31, 33 and 48 contain photographs of the patients and parcels 24, 25, 30 and 32 contain letters written by patients.

Several case books were missing at time of deposit. Some have subsequently been deposited and their reference numbers have been noted in the sequence, but a few gaps in the series remain. Some may include entries with later dates than the covering dates given because of the ongoing nature of a patient's illness and treatment.
