TitleContemporary copy of mandate of king Henry VII
DescriptionInstructing Richard Beauchamp, knight, and Isabel his wife of Hanley (Hanley subtus Malverniam) to give John Cavele senior, in accordance with the customs of the manor of Hanley, possession of a messuage, six acres of land, and six acres of wood, with appurtenances, in Hanley [John Cavele junior and James Wodeward are also mentioned].
Dated at Westminster.
(mutilated)

1. The date is 3 Henry, either VII or VIII; Henry VII is confirmed by the names in the mandate.
2. Richard lord Beauchamp of Powick lived at Madresfield, but might be described as of Hanley either because he had bought the forestership and the submanor of Hanley Hall, or because he had custody for the Crown of the whole manor of Hanley; but there is no evidence that he lived in Hanley.
