1. John Dingley (Dineley, etc.) appears here for the first time in Hanley. The family seat was at Charlton in Cropthorne. Henry Dingley was a verderer of the chase in 1584 and members of the family were lords of Hall manor in the late seventeenth century, selling it to Edmund Lechmere in 1743
