Description | Giving to William son of William de Witemere, for his service and for 37s of silver in advance, all the land which he held of Nicholas [son of] Organa (Organe ), Robert [son of] Organa and Reginald Habraham, being part of the land which had once belonged to the said Organa at Stangenhulle, with all appurtenances in the same field, and six selions of land belonging to the same tenement lying in the furlong (cultura) opposite Organa's gate, between the land which Adam the weaver (textoralius) once held and that which Richard de Lechemer held belonging to the said tenement; to be held of Nicholas, Robert and Reginald and their heirs or assigns to William and his heirs or assigns, or to any to whom he may wish to give, sell, mortgage (invadiare), assign or bequeath it except religious or Jews, freely [etc], paying, either himself or his heirs or assigns, to Nicholas and his heirs or assigns a rent of 3d annually, namely ¾d at each of the four terms of St Andrew apostle, the Annunciation of the blessed Mary in March, the Nativity of St John Baptist, and Michaelmas, and to Robert and his heirs or assigns, or to the chief lord of the fee, 1d, namely ð d at the Annunciation and ð d at Michaelmas, and to Reginald Abraham 1d [equally at the same terms], for all service, suits of court, aids, pleas, customs and demands, except royal service insofar as it pertains to such a (tantum ) tenement in the same vill.
