DescriptionGiving to William his son, for his service, four selions in the west field of Burley (Burleye) between the land which belonged to Reginald le Bonde and that which belonged to Reginald de Lechemere and extending from the land called Longheuedlond towards the Severn, three selions in the south field of Burley (Burleie) between the land of the said Reginald le Bonde on both sides, and one meadow lying between the meadow of the lord, the earl, and the meadow which once belonged to the vicar of Hanley (Hanleie); to be held freely [etc] of the lord, the earl of Gloucester, and his heirs to William and his heirs or assigns or to any to whom he may wish to give, sell, mortgage, assign or bequeath it with its appurtenances except to religious or Jews, rendering, himself and his heirs or assigns, to the lord, the earl, and his heirs 4d per year, that is 1d at each of the four terms, of St Andrew apostle, the Annunciation of blessed Mary in March, the Nativity of blessed John the Baptist and Michaelmas, and to Robert Swetemede of Burley (Burleye) and his heirs 2d annually at the same terms, for all service [etc] except royal service.
