DescriptionGiving to Geoffrey Serle, for his service and for 10s of silver in advance, that whole parcel of his land with the hedges (hayciis) belonging to it, lying between the land of Walter Sirig and the land once belonging to Gilbert de Seggesleye, and extending to the land of Walter Sirig at both ends; to be held in perpetuity and freely [etc] of the chief lord and his heirs to Geoffrey and his heirs or assigns or to anybody to whom he wishes to give, sell or assign it, with its appurtenances, rendering annually, himself and his heirs or assigns, to the chief lord of the fee and his heirs 4d at the four usual terms in the vill of Hanley, that is 1d at each term, in place of Robert's annual rent, for all service [etc] except royal service insofar as it pertains to such a tenement.
