DescriptionGiving to John son of Richard de la Ridde, for his service, and for 17s of silver paid in advance to Adam and 12d to Walter his son, one acre of his land lying in Northnewelond with its meadow and fences (sepibus) and other appurtenances, between his own land and that of Richard and extending from the land called Artheresacre towards North Brook (Northbrok); to be held of the chief lord of the fee and his heirs to the said John and his heirs or assigns or to any to whom he may wish to give, sell or assign it, freely [etc], by the service which they will perform in place of Adam, and by rendering, himself and his heirs or assigns to the chief lord of the fee and his heirs, 4d annually at the four terms usual in the same vill, that is 1d at each term, in place of [Adam's] annual rent, for all service [etc]. Warranty clause : Adam Brun warrants it by the aforesaid service which John will in future perform on his behalf to the chief lord of the fee and his heirs. Sealing clause.
