DescriptionGiving to William Bawgth one acre of arable land lying in Burleyfield (Burleyfele), in length between the land once belonging to John Cade and the messuage called Wylton and [in breadth] between the land of Agnes Smyth [on the north] and that of the said William Bawgth on the south; to be held to William, his heirs and assigns, in perpetuity, of the chief lord of the fee by the services due from it and lawfully accustomed. Witnesses: Nicholas Hanley, William Freywyn bailiff, John Freywyn of Fortehey, Richard Lechemer, John Hancocke and others.
Dated at Hanley.

Seal: (on divided tag) (1) red wax, fragment, fleur de lys in bottom segment; (2) red wax, fragment, illegible.

1. The name Wylton may recall a pre-Conquest farm or hamlet (OE ) in the Burleyfield area; there is no family of that name. Other "tuns" include Horton, Bytton Kentun
