DescriptionGiving to Richard Stocke junior, his son, a messuage with close adjoining situated in Hanley at Southend (Le Soutthend), in length between the the king's highway (viam regiam) on the west and the land of Richard Stocke senior on the east, [and] in breadth between the land of Richard Baron on the north and the messuage of John Wyse on the south; also two acres of arable land lying in the field called Lechmeresfield (Lechemerisfeld), in breadth between the land of John Wyse on the south and that of Richard Baron on the north, [and] in length between the land of John Wyse on the east and the aforesaid messuage on the west; to be held with all appurtenances to Richard Stocke junior and the heirs of his body lawfully begotten, in perpetuity, of the chief lord of the fee by the services due from the property and lawfully accustomed. Warranty clause. And if it should happen [quod absit written above the line] that his son and the heirs of his body should die, the grantor desires that the property should pass to Thomas Stocke, his [the grantor's] son, and his lawful heirs; and if Thomas dies without issue he desires that it should remain with himself [the grantor] and his heirs in perpetuity.
