Dated at Hanley.

Seal: red wax (1) device of letter M; (2) device of a letter M, surmounted by a crown.

1. Joan was the wife of Richard Lechmere, whom she had married in 1459, and Alice Baron was her sister; see note on .
2. The term via regiahere is used for two different roads, namely the Upton-Worcester road on the east of the tenement, and either Shaw Lane or (more probably) Roberts End Street on the south; if the latter, Southend was spreading into the Boothall area, a reminder that boundaries of the settlements within the manor were not precise.
