DescriptionGiving to Thomas Lachmore senior and Eleanor his wife the whole of his meadow lying in Severn Meadow in the lordship of Hanley Castle, next to the meadow of Henry Hanley, in length [reaching] as far as the Severn on the east and the royal (regium meadow called Shirmedowe on the west, and in breadth between the meadow of John Baughe called Cademedowe on the south and St Clement's meadow now in the tenancy of William Hanley on the north; to be held to the said Thomas and Eleanor, their heirs and assigns, in perpetuity, of the chief lords of the fee by the services due from the land and lawfully accustomed. Warranty clause. Sealing clause.
Witnesses: Roger Savage clerk, John Baughe, William Frewen, Henry Hanley, Richard Seerle, John Lawton and others.

Seal (on tongue) : lost.
Addendum (same hand) : annual rent of ð d to be paid to John Wodman and his heirs at Michaelmas for all secular exaction and demand.
1. This is part of the demesne meadow; the manor had been with the Crown since the forfeiture of 1478.
2. In practice the rent was paid to John Wodman, but the land was of course held of the chief lord; see Introduction, note 71.
