DescriptionGiving to Richard Lechemer, for a certain sum of money paid in advance, all his lands and tenements, meadows, pastures and pasture rights, woods, underwoods, rents, reversions, hereditaments and services, with all appurtenances, lying in the lordship, vill and fields of Hanley Castle, which came or should have come to him by lawful inheritance on the death of his father, reserving only to Helen Sowffylde, wife of John Sowffylde, two selions or parcels of land lying in a certain field there called Le Shawe; to be held to Richard, his heirs and assigns, in perpetuity, of the chief lords of the fee by the services due from the property and lawfully accustomed. Seal: red wax, impressed on both sides; on the obverse, device of letters h s ; on the reverse, a pattern of weaving (a merchant's mark?).
