DescriptionHe has bargained and sold to William Pynnock of Hanley county Worcester esquire, for the sum of ð 49 paid at the sealing, all his messuages, lands, tenements, hereditaments, woods, underwoods, rents, reversions, services, courts and profits of courts, with all appurtenances, in the lordship of Hanley otherwise Hanley Castle, lately part of the possessions of the late priory of Little Malvern now dissolved and suppressed, which he acquired, among other property, of the gift and grant of the king, by letters patent under the great seal dated 18 December last; to be held to William Pynnock, his heirs and assigns, for their use and benefit, in perpetuity, by rendering annually 4s 5ð d to the Court of Augmentations for and in the name of the tenth for all manner of suits, services and demands; and all to be held of the king as of his manor of Upton upon Severn, in free socage only and not in knight's service.
