Applications for an Independent Lay Member of the West Mercia Police and Crime Panel are invited from members of the public.

Closing date: 5pm on Friday 16 May 2025

 

The Panel is part of the governance arrangements for policing in the West Mercia area and its role is to maintain a regular check and balance on the performance of the directly-elected West Mercia Police and Crime Commissioner.

 

The Panel covers the geographical areas of Herefordshire, Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin, and Worcestershire with support for the Panel provided by Worcestershire County Council.

Vacancy for Parish Clerk

 UPTON WARREN PARISH COUNCIL

VACANCY- CLERK/RESPONSIBLE FINANCIAL  OFFICER

Upton Warren is situated between Bromsgrove and Droitwich Spa within the Wychavon District with 325 residents.

A vacancy has arisen for a Clerk/ Responsible Financial Officer to Upton Warren Parish Council, the position involves approximately  4-5 hrs. per week depending on work demand, working from home.  The Council meet every two months.

The Clerk /RFO  is responsible for preparing the agenda for meetings and taking and preparing minutes, dealing with correspondence, managing bank accounts, overseeing the budget. Submitting an annual VAT return, producing end of year accounts, complying with audit requirements, skills in word processing and spread sheets is essential. The Clerk’s role also involves ensuring the Council follow correct procedures.

Previous experience would be preferred, but, training can be provided.

Salary is based on NALC salary scales depending upon experience.
