Parish Notice Board

Future Parish Council Meetings Cancelled from March 2020 until further notice

In light of the current situation concerning Co-Vid19 and the
restrictions on gatherings of more than two persons, all future normal
monthly meetings of Grimley Parish Council AND also the Annual Parish
Meeting AND also the Annual Meeting of Grimley Parish Council are
hereby on hold, with all meetings likely to be cancelled and/or
rearranged. Residents will be given as much notice of new dates/times
as possible. Residents should adhere to Government advice concerning
Covid-19 at all times. The Clerk is awaiting details of legislation
permitting Parish Councils ALONG WITH their residents to mutually
participate in internet-based forms of Parish Council Meetings. The
internet service mostly likely to be used by Grimley Parish Council in
the event of an online meeting is Zoom, which allows links to the
meeting to be provided to residents. More details will be released on
this as soon as possible. All positions currently undertaken by Parish
Councillors (ie that of Parish Council Chair and Committee
representatives etc) will remain valid for the present and will be
subject to the usual annual vote once clarification from Central
Government is forthcoming. Grimley Parish Council has a robust system
in place allowing the Clerk restricted but sufficiently useful
financial permissions to undertake emergency expenditure if required.
In addition, it is anticipated that Central Government will provide
default permission for Parish Councillors to spend against previously
agreed annual budgets. Details of the budget and of the Clerk’s
Delegated Authorities are available upon request. Be assured that
Grimley Cllrs and the Clerk will undertake to utilise these options
with all due care and caution and with as full transparency as
possible. The Parish Council is happy to act as first port of call for
any enquiry or concern, so please do get in touch. Look after
yourselves and, crucially, take a moment to check on your neighbours,
even if that is from a distance. Help us to keep all residents visible
during this time of isolation. Thank you.
