Welcome to Norton and Lenchwick Parish Council

NORTON (St. Egwin), a parish, in the union of Evesham, Lower division of the hundred of Blackenhurst, Pershore and E. divisions of the county of Worcester, 3 miles (N. by E.) from Evesham; containing, with the tything of Chadbury and the chapelry of Lenchwick, 385 inhabitants. The abbey of Evesham had lands here before the Conquest. The parish is situated on the right bank of the navigable river Avon, and is intersected by the road from Evesham to Alcester. [From British History Online: 1848]

The Parish of Norton and Lenchwick in the 21st century includes the hamlet of Chadbury & the areas of Wood Norton & Twyford. Things have changed considerably over the years. Direct access to the river Avon has been cut off by the Bidford by-pass, our Post Office has been gone for many years, the Workingman’s Club is gone and even our phone box has been cut adrift by the phone company.

It is not all bad news though. Our rural character remains. The predominance of fruit orchards has given way to grain crops. We have a golf range, a country park and numerous fishing spots both river and pond. Our village hall is vibrant and always busy with activity and our playing field has been recently endowed with a football pitch and lots of new play equipment.
