Clerk to the Council/Responsible Financial Officer
The Parish Council is seeking to appoint a Parish Clerk / Responsible Financial Officer. This is an administrative role for 6 hours per week from home, reporting to the Parish Council with attendance at evening bimonthly (Jan, March, May, July, Sept, Nov) meetings at Severn Stoke Parish Hall.
The applicant needs a high level of professionalism, excellent administrative skills and some book keeping/accountancy knowledge. Computer literate with full knowledge of Microsoft Office and familiarity with website control would be an advantage. The applicant also needs to be an excellent communicator who can work well both within a team, on their own and also dealing with members of the public.
The Clerk is responsible for the day to day running of the parish council, keeping up to date financial records, attending Parish Council Meetings and recording minutes of those meetings and completing all actions arising from those minutes. Also dealing with any issues arising within the parish as advised by residents or District/County Councillors.
This position will commence in March 2020 or sooner if applicant is available with training and hand over period available from current clerk.
Remuneration is based on the national pay scale SCP (hourly rate of approximately £9.77 per hr) dependent upon qualifications and experience. There is also an element of working from home allowance per month.
