Guarlford is a small rural Worcestershire village, the centre of which is nearly two and a half miles from the foot of the Malvern Hills in the west; the civil parish also embraces the Rhydd to the east and Clevelode to the northeast, both bordering the River Severn. The B4211 road connecting Great Malvern to Upton upon Severn passes through Guarlford. With origins in pre-Roman times, the settlement is today home to about 250 people. At the heart of the village are the church, St Mary's, and the Village Hall, a conventional malthouse. The Parish Council and the Women's Institute, together with the church, help to support the life of the community.
