We are pleased that our Worcestershire Archaeology Day returns this year after our Covid enforced break. We are back in The Hive again on Level 0 with another exciting range of talks.

Come and join us for our annual Archaeology Day, with talks from staff and guests about excavations, discoveries and projects around the county. Bookings are now open Talks include:

• Fascinating Finds 2020/21
• A Wetland Landscape – later prehistoric waterlogged remains and burnt mounds at Worcester Six
• Iron Age farm at Welland
• Portable Antiquities Scheme
• Putting the pieces together: excavation at Main Street, Sedgeberrow
• Protection marks in buildings
• Worcester Charter 400 – Linking Documentary Sources to surviving buildings

Taking into to account public health guidance we will have a slightly lower limit on number than usual so that chairs can be spaced slightly further apart. We’ll ask you to sanitise hands through the day and there will be ventilation from the windows (so please dress accordingly).

Tea and coffee will be provided as usual, although at two station to space people out. Although not a lecture theatre it does have an audio-visual system and is used for events including talk by the university.

We are working on offering a hybrid event so that the talks will also be able to be viewed at home, for a small fee. This will enable those cautious about coming to still hear the talks, and those unable to attend. Details and practicalities are still being worked on.
