The volume includes George Lyttelton's letters to his father Sir Thomas Lyttelton while on his Grand Tour 1728-30.

Other correspondents include Catherine Lyttelton, Robert Hoblyn, Thomas Potter, John Hough, Bishop of Worcester, Chesterfield, William Warburton, Thomas Lennard Barrett, Isaac Maddox, Bishop of Worcester and Lucy Lyttelton.
