Among the papers are letter books of the 1st Baron while serving as Governor of Jamaica , letter books of of Admiral Thomas Smith while Commander-in-Chief in the Downs during the Seven Years War and papers of the 4th Baron concerning Canterbury in New Zealand. The autograph manuscript of the greater part of Thomas Habington's History of Worcestershire is also included.
