Matters discussed include: complaints received about nuisances and Inspector of Nuisances report; chemical manure works at Diglis; bills paid, with person to be paid, services rendered and amount to be paid; drainage and sewerage; lodging houses; public baths and bathing in the Severn; slaughterhouses, including table of slaughterhouses listing owner, location and date established (annotated); glued-in notices and committee reports printed or published in newspapers; disease outbreaks, including smallpox in 1872; mortality rates; construction of a infectious diseases hospital by the Guardians of the Poor; petroleum licences, giving names, location and amount of petroleum to be stored, and also a copy of the licence regulations; industrial smoke pollution; names, ages and residences of the 46 men who applied for position of Sanitary Inspector and Inspector of Nuisances, 1871; complaints regarding the number and smell of bodies buried under the floor in city churches; and drownings at the river near Pitchcroft.
