Matters discussed include army billeting; allocation, transfer and termination of tenancy of allotments to individuals whose names and addresses are provided; arrears of rent of named individuals and land/property; establishment of a property sub-committee, telephone exchange sub-committee and allotment sub-committee; duties, appointment, salaries, conduct and pensions of staff; inventory; detailed analysis of providing a telephone line to some departments; council office furnishings and supplies; swans; fuel supply; cleaning, maintenance, improvements and other works to council property, land and furnishings; bills to be paid (individual bills not usually discussed unless there is a dispute); Agricultural Show; impact of the First World War, especially with regards to restrictions, the military's use of premises, trade, and the citizens and Corporation staff enlisting; monument and internment fees for burials; haymaking and grass at the cemetery; memorial and tombstone approvals; storm damage; portraits and plate in the Guildhall; insurance; lease, tenancy and eviction from Corporation land and properties; lifesaving equipment by the canal and river; rooms and building rented by other Corporation departments; disagreement over whether the Mayor or Property Committee had control over use of Guildhall rooms; application to disinter Private F Randle's body for burial in America in 1920; war memorials; and the theft of flowers from graves.
