Matters discussed include plants, shrubs and trees; maintenance of the cemetery and grounds; sales of the grass and hay crop; insurance; purchase of hearse; maintenance, alterations and improvements made to cemetery property and furnishings; list of bills to be paid, giving name of company or individual, work done and amount; shelter for officiating clergymen; internment fees; copies of letters relating to a large discrepancy between an estimate for works carried out and the final bill; resignation and appointment of staff, some with details of the salary and responsibilities, and names/ages of applicants; letting of unappropriated ground for grazing; burial of children and stillborn infants; services in the chapel; investigations into trespass and encroachment onto land held by the committee; approval of tombstones, monuments and memorial cards for named individuals, a minority giving the dimensions; re-opening of the workhouse burial ground in 1862; closure of Tallow Hill cemetery in the 1860s; method and charges for the conveyance of the deceased to the cemetery; non-scripture inscriptions on tombstones; additional grave spaces and proposed new cemeteries; urinals and water-closets; erection of a mortuary for the bodies awaiting inquest and post-mortem examinations; and accidental damages.

Some relevant newscuttings have been pasted in, usually job advertisements or reports of council meetings when an especially important or controversial discussion was held. Names given of those who proposed and seconded a motion.
