DescriptionCorrespondence about volunteers in the Worcester Civil Defence Corps. Volunteers were assigned to different 'sections' e.g. Rescue, Headquarters, Signals etc, who would be mobilised in event of a war emergency (particularly nuclear attack). Includes letters of application, resignations and transfer of membership. One issue (Vol 1 no. 3, 1960) of the SIO Digest, Journal for the Scientific Intelligence Officers of the Midland Civil Defence Region. With some certificates of enrolement and index cards from the register. Enrolment records may contain details such as name, address, division, enrolment number and date, age, occupation and training.
