DescriptionDeeds relating to the repayment of Civil War loans to Charles I and II.

1 - 24 September 1723. Parties (1) Mayor, Aldermen and Citizens of Worcester and (2) named Trustees. Reciting a deed of 3 July 1701 between the Mayor of Worcester and Trustees, stating that the Mayor and Aldermen, having found it necessary in the late Civil War to raise charitable moneys for the purposes of loans to Kings Charles I and II, are now desirous of repaying the money with interest. Lease of properties [itemised in schedule] in trust to repay the loans. With a schedule of the charitable money used for the loans, amounting to £594 16s 0d.

2 and 3 - 24 August 1779. Parties (1) Mayor, Aldermen and Citizens of Worcester and (2) named Trustees. Lease for 99 years of properties for the repayment of the loans [see 1 above]. Without counterpart lease.
