DescriptionBlack and white photographs of George William, 9th Earl of Coventry and his wife, Lady Blanche, distributing beef and bread to the tenants of their estate on Christmas Eve [year unknown]. This was an annual tradition upheld by the Earl and his wife. Photograph 705:73 BA14450/277/8 (1) shows a large group of tenants standing outside a barn, with Lord and Lady Coventry stood to the bottom right of the photograph. Item 705:73 BA14450/277/8 (2) shows the interior of the barn with tables full of loaves of bread and parcels of meat, ready to hand out to the tenants.
Lower left of the mount of each photograph states "A. and G. Colwell" [photographers], lower right states "Worcester". Prints mounted on green card.
Measures 202 x 151mm without mounting, 310 x 246mm with mounting.
