DescriptionToned photograph of George [(1865-1936) Duke of York, later King George V of Great Britain and Ireland] (centre) laying the foundation stone of the Victoria Institute, Worcester. Lady Blanche Coventry can be seen immediately to the right of the Duke, with George William, 9th Earl of Coventry alongside her to the right.
The lower left corner of the mounting has the words " T. Bennett and Sons" [photographers] blind embossed in gold, whilst the lower right corner has the words "Worcester and Malvern" ditto. The reverse of the photograph has the following information "Established 1856. T. Bennett and Sons, Photographers. Under the patronage of the Prince and Princess of Wales. Worcester and Malvern. Studios: 8, Broad Street, Worcester. Church Street, Malvern."
Print backed on hard board.
Measures 242mm x 152mm without mounting, 253 x 175mm with mounting.
