Description	1-21 Manuscript copy of George Lord Lyttelton's poems The poems include: To Mr Poyntz Ambassador at the Congress of Soissons in the year 1728 To the Revd Mr Ayscough at Oxford 1729 To a Young Lady with the Tragedy of Venice Preserv'd Elegy An Ode Written at Mr Pope's House at Twittenham which he had lent to Mrs Greville August 1734 Songs An Elegy of Tibullus Imitated Sulpicia to Corinthius Cato's speech to Labienus in the 9th book of Lucan Horace Ode 4.L.4 To Mr Glover on his poem of Leonidas written 1739 to Will Pitt Esqr on his Losing his Commission in the year 1736 The manuscript has been annotated and corrected. Pages 10-14 appear to have been ripped out 22 With covering note about the poetry [written by John Hayward, 20th cent] The note indicates that the manuscript is not in Lord Lyttelton's hand, but is a fair copy of 17 pieces of poetry which were printed in his 'Political works'. It is possible they were written out by a secretary during Lord Lyttelton's lifetime or a member of the family afterwards. former ref 32/167
