DescriptionThe front and back pages of the volume list the names and attendance record of the 48 members of the council, which fell under the treasurer's remit as absence was punishable by a fine. Some names have annotations recording a member's death or election to the 24. Matters recorded are usually confined to the election of members and their position within the 48; arrangements for feasts and 'treats' for the 48; the inspection of the accounts; the imposition and collection of fines from the members. Entries are infrequent, usually no more than twice a year.
