DescriptionMinutes of the meetings of the Commissioners for the Improvement of the City, established under the "Act for better supplying the City of Worcester and the liberties thereof, with Water, and for more effectually Paving, Lighting, Watching, and otherwise improving the said City". Matters discussed include: appointment of staff and committee members; works to be carried out, such as building of culverts, street cleansing etc; legal matters regarding property and disputes; accounts and financial reports; compensation for damages; collection and assessment of rates; renumbering of premises; copies of letters and reports presented to the committee; and various legislation and Acts.

With a copy of the Commissioner's Oath in the front, the Act, and various memorials (usually relating to mortgages, loans and probate) copied in the back. Front cover of the earlier volume has detached.

Volume 1 covers 1824 - 1841; volume 2 covers 1841 - 1849.
