Matters discussed include: extracts from the Chamber Order Books; rents, tolls, charges and bills; surveys, maintenance and improvements to the market buildings; allocations of stalls; supplies of water, lighting, toilets etc; appointment of officers; rules, regulations and bye-laws; condemnation of and recommendation to rebuild the market house in 1851; weights and measures; outbreak of contagious animal diseases; inspectors and constables; railway crossing the cattle market; complaints and prosecutions; committee reports; other schemes that affect access to land surrounding the markets. Includes some copies of letters received and newspaper reports.
