DescriptionPapers concerning the Worcester Corporation's purchase, running and abandonment of the tramways and light railways.

Bundle 1 contains local newspapers, mostly from the 1920s, that make reference to the tramways.

Bundle 2 contains papers relating to the 1926 Corporation Bill, to 'empower the Mayor Aldermen and Citizens of the City of Worcester to provide and work tramways light railways trolley vehicles and omnibuses to make further provision with regard to the improvement of the city and for other purposes".

Bundle 3 contains papers relating to the 1928 agreement, most of which seem to have come from the office of Maurice P Fitzgerald (possibly a solicitor). Papers include copy and draft agreements and acts, mostly relating to the purchase but including some relating to properties, plans, solicitors' letters, local newspapers, conveyances, posters for public meetings, notices, memoranda, schedule of documents, and other papers, some heavily annotated. Parties include the Corporation of Worcester, Tramways Trust Company Limited, Worcester Electric Traction Company, British Electric Traction Company, and some private individuals.
