TitlePhotographs of Royal Celebration and Visits
DescriptionBlack and white photographs of the lights to celebrate the coronation of George VI. Photographs are taken late evening and night, possibly by Lawrence Sleath. Two are mounted in grey card. Number one shows the Glovers' Needle and bridge decorated with lights, including some displayed in the Royal Coat of Arms, the photo is taken from the Hylton Road side of the River Severn to catch the lights reflected in the water. Number two is taken from the bridge (over the canal?) to show lights spelling out 'Long May They Reign'. Number three shows the buildings along the riverbank, but the middle of the photo has been damaged. Number four is a close up of the bridge in number two, with some damage to the middle of the photo.
