DescriptionBooks of purprestures account for all the purprestures (encroachments on public land by a private individual) within the City of Worcester and the fines levied. Organised by ward. Most of the volumes have been rebound at a later date, possibly in the nineteenth or early twentieth century, but the pages have still come loose. Not all of the covering dates on the volume spines are accurate.

Volume 1 covers 1687 - 1690. With later pencil doodles of dogs, birds and faces on the last few pages.
Volume 2 covers 1691 - 1698.
Volume 3 covers 1699 - 1702.
Volume 4 covers 1703 - 1707.
Volume 5 covers 1708 - 1715.
Volume 6 covers 1716 - 1721.
