TitleFreemen entitled to Vote
DescriptionAlphabetical index of Freemen, listing date of admission, name, trade, residence and remarks (usually listing year of decease, expunged etc). Until the voting reforms of the 1830s, Freemen were some of the very few people eligible to vote for their Parliamentary representative.

Almost all the entries have amendments (e.g. change of residence noted) and have been crossed through when the freeman died or otherwise ceased to be a freeman. Entries are widely spaced which allowed for later additions whilst maintaining alphabetical order. The dates of admission span approximately 1770 to 1835 .

Covers are damaged and slightly loose, would benefit from conservation.
