DescriptionPhotographs, copies of paintings and sketches of various members of the Coventry family. The original photographs came to the Record Office largely unorganised, spread across various boxes. A large number of the photographs of the 9th Earl and his wife Lady Blanche,along with other members of the family, were kept in a photograph album which had been compiled in 1989. Photographs had been affixed to the pages using adhesive foam pads. Items from within this album have been removed for reasons of the long-term preservation of the items enclosed.
Photographs have been divided into 3 Sub-Sub Series: Family General - which contains photographs featuring 2 or more members of the Coventry family; Individuals - containing individual shots and portraits of family members, including several persons who are as yet unidentified but are believed to be members of the family; and Events and occasions - containing largely group photographs of the family on special occasions, such as the visit of the Duke of York to Croome Court in 1894. Photographs have been organised chronologically as far as possible, according to the date the print was produced, rather than the date of the original image.
