DescriptionAlderman Bertram Brotherton, former Headmaster at St George's School and Worcester City Chamberlain, took a keen interest in local history. Much of this sub series consists of notes he made and letters, postcards and other information sent to him in response to queries he made, often in the local newspaper. Where newspaper clippings form part of the notes, the clippings are often dated but the name of the paper has not been included.

Most of the notes were kept in either brown manila envelopes with the subject typewritten on, or in envelopes addressed to Brotherton sent from members of the public. The former have been appraised out, but many of the latter have been retained.
